MUSIC MARKETING PROJECT

 Now approaching the music marketing project! It is currently January 28th and we first gathering some information on how we want our project to be looked at

For the Music Marketing project my group and I got the genre "Pop" we are now choosing to go with the song electric feel by MGTM to create our music video.

My group and I wanted to then lay out how we were going to make this music video and the new rock star we were gonna create come to life. We started by creating a google document laying out information on some company's that worked with similar rock stars and musicians like MGTM. We gathered lots of interesting information on the distribution and history on RCA and Columbia records. Some of this information was a struggle to find, we had to dig deeper into the internet to find the facts we wanted to find.

Now that we had background information on how are song and band came to be it was time to create our new artist and his own story. We discussed various ideas and what aesthetic we wanted for him when we finally agreed on one. He is a collage musician with a different side to him not everybody knows, he's going through life not knowing how to put many things into words however, he finds writing music is a way he can express himself but can he even get the words out then? He then meets a girl who he falls in love with and together she helps him find the words to fully express himself, when they finally do he blows up and a concert is set where he will perform for all of his fans. 

After we laid out his aesthetic and storyline we then wanted to map out the big music video our musician will be creating to promote his song more. We drew up a detailed storyboard with a good 21 specific shots of each angle we wanted to get of this story. In addition we starting working on the presentation aspect of this project because that is the whole point of this project, promoting and marketing our music. We proceeded to use Canva to make our slides, we struggled with Canva for a tiny bit trying to maneuver a new platform for making a presentation. 

To conclude this blog post we are still on the presentation area of this project incorporating each and every detail into it. The music video is almost done we are still working on filming some shots however, everything seems to be moving smoothly and we have mapped out time out very well.
